"After a 3 year obsession with Bad Cat amps I decided to sell a bunch of gear to buy one. The company honored my band with an artist deal, and built us an all custom Lynx from the chassis up. I miss a lot of the gear I sold, but I don’t regret it for a split second."
Agreed, some guitarists need to consider the tonal outcome of their guitar/amp combinations and especially their amp’s EQ… but more than that, musicians and listeners need to WEAR EARPLUGS!
If a guitar tone or some aspect of a guitar tone is so grating on your ears that it hurts to listen, you have two solutions; keep listening until that frequency band of your hearing is damaged enough to not bother you anymore, or put in some damn plugs.
Music can get loud and sometimes involve harsh guitar tones, that’s just how it goes… but your ears are not built to handle that shit without protection.
