So Line 6 just came out with the M5.
I replaced the bulk of my pedalboard with an M9 nearly two years ago and haven’t looked back and recently found myself selling it to my bassist so that I could step up to the M13. I may need to dork out and do a full on review and rundown on why I love these pedals so gad damn much.
For now I’ll focus on the M5. M9 and M13 users like myself may scoff at it’s tiny limited layout. But lets not forget that this single pedal has nothing that can quite compete with it for size, price and purpose. It is THE perfect swiss army knife pedal for all the purists in denial to using anything but individual effect pedals.
It’s got just about any effect in there you could possibly want. Most of which(maybe not all the yellows/gain based tones) sound as good or better than the competing single effects. Stereo operation, tap tempo(with the option to change note values!) and the ability to use an expression pedal to control ANY AND ALL parameters on any effect. 25 presets can be scrolled through or you can use MIDI with it. For $200? Give me a break, a DD-7 is $170 and in the delay department alone can’t even try to hold up to the M5.
If you like effects and are skeptical to multi-effect units or don’t feel like you use them enough to justify an M9 or M13. The M5 will corrupt you if you give it a chance.
